Just as the title says. I will also be applying a layer of silicone sealant to the edges of the undermount sink prior to installation. The sink came with clips but I'm wondering if I could simply just pre-drill some holes into the flange of the sink and run 3/4" #12 pan head screws into it. Any reason I shouldn't do this? Should I use washers to help spread out the footprint of the screws? Seems like it would be a pretty solid install if I used about 4 or 5 screws per side. But, I've never done ... Because the MDF under laminate countertops gets ruined when it gets wet, you can’t install a normal undermount sink. Water gets in there, swells the MDF and warps your countertops.
